HAIRLINKSQL is now fully certified to run on Windows 8 Pro and above as well as Windows Server 2012. It will also run on Windows 8 but cannot be supported by CFL due to the lack of Remote Desktop component.

Few things to think about when installing on Windows 8 are:

• Unlike Windows 7 UAC (User Account Control) does not need to be turned off.

• Local administrator rights have to be assigned to the Windows user using HAIRLINKSQL. If your PC is standalone or is setup in a Workgroup you just need to add the Windows user to the local Administrator group. In case of your PC being connected to a domain you will need to add your Domain User to the local Administrators group on your PC.

• If using 64bit version of Windows 8 you have to configure the ODBC connection via 32bit ODBC Data Source Administrator located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

Before upgrading to Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 please contact HAIRLINKSQL support as your HAIRLINKSQL software will need to be updated to a compatible version.
